• The Minor Arcana - Ten of Swords

      Meanings:
      Failure, Karma, Beginnings

This is a brutal card in a sense. It shows a man with ten swords impaled into his back. It is the ultimate culmination of someone simply using the powers of the Sword. Looking back over the suit, the story told is one of sad changes, harshness and one of deceit. it is only fitting for the numbered suit to end in this fashion.

The first meaning, failure, is fairly obvious. Whatever has happened, it did not end well. It was a big price and one that took more than was needed. Whatever it was, be thankful for what is leftover.

It is important to remember in life that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. While it sounds like physics, it is more about karma. More often than not those who do not acknowledge it will find many prices waiting for them down the line. This card can serve as a warning that something is coming to haunt you. It is also warn you of a tilting balance in a direction.

The final meaning serves as an important reminder. Just as karma is give and take, so is life itself. When something comes to an end, something new is created. The night gives way to the dawn just as a death gives us to creating life. It is a place where something new can be begun now that an ending has come.
