The Minor Arcana - Eight of Cups

Moving On, Transition, Weariness, Growth

This is a card for change. Much like what it is shown on the card, it is time to move onto something different. The waters have grown still around these cups. There is much yet to experience, but it is time to leave those pastures behind and move onto something new. Just as the moon fades above the figure, and the waters have stilled, the moon will grow full again just as fresh air will stir the water yet.

This card is a call for some time off. It could be simply a time to re-evaluate a number of things in your life or it could be that it is time to move on. This can be a draining time for even the strongest of people. It could mean leaving behind any number of things as well. The thing to remember about it is that what is forsaken will strengthen you in the future, what is lost will come as a wind to your back and departures from people only last so long.

This is card that tells of loss, but in a different sense than most of the other tarot. It is simply that time for those things. Everyone seeks to move on and grow and only so many things can ever remain constant in anyone's life. It is time to seek out the new part of you. The dream here has ended and life is calling you to the road again.
