The Hanged Man was once known as the Traitor, symbolic of the fact the person has fallen from the Wheel of Fortune. This card calls for you to surrender to your emotions, actions, fate or ending a struggle. The Hanged Man can also be a call for a change, forsaking your old ways for something new. This card can also mean that it is time to put someone else in front of yourself or it is time to work for a higher cause.
The Fool's Journey
As the Fool travels, the road gives on toward his unseen destination, the ground below him gives way. He finds himself suspended on a cross he knows of his own making. He cannot escape anything from his past as all his sins come to a head upon him. He struggles to hold onto the last thing he feels he has, himself. Eventually he is worn down and he relinquishes even that. In that moment, the Fools finds a new serenity. He finds that things fit together and build more now that he has surrendered his control.
